How do I manage login methods for accounts linked to Google?

If your account is linked to Google login, you may have questions about how to access your account, switch to a username and password login, or troubleshoot login issues. This guide provides comprehensive information to help you manage your login methods effectively.

Overview of Login Methods

Accounts created with Google login on Blueprint are authenticated through Google and do not initially have a standalone username and password. This means you must use the "Sign in with Google" option to access your account. However, it is possible to transition to a username and password login if needed.

Using Google Login

To log in with Google:

  1. On the login screen, select "Sign in with Google."

  2. Choose the Google account associated with your profile.

  3. You will be logged in without needing a separate password.

If you forget your Google password, you must reset it through your Google account settings. Note that the password reset option on the Blueprint login page does not apply to Google-linked accounts.

Troubleshooting Login Issues

If you encounter issues logging in with Google:

  • Ensure you are using the correct Google account associated with your Blueprint profile.

  • If you cannot remember your Google password, reset it through your Google account settings.

  • If you are unable to log in with a password, remember that accounts linked to Google do not use the standard password reset flow. Instead, use the "Sign in with Google" option.

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies to remove any corrupted session data.

  • Attempt to log in using an incognito or private browsing window to resolve issues caused by cached data.

Policies and Security Guidelines

When transitioning from Google login to a username and password, it is important to adhere to the following policy: Agreeing to this policy is a mandatory step before transitioning your login method.

  • No Account Sharing Policy: Your account must be used exclusively by you. Sharing your login credentials with others is strictly prohibited and may result in disciplinary action, including suspension of access.

By following these guidelines, you can effectively manage your login methods and ensure secure access to your account.
