Exam Timing Accommodations

How can I adjust my exam timing to reflect my accommodations?

Written by Blueprint

You can adjust your exam timers to reflect your approved accommodations. We offer a variety of timing options to reflect common accommodations in our programs, including standard, 1.25x time, 1.5x time, and 2x time. To adjust the timing for your practice exams:

  1. Log in to your Blueprint account.

  2. Navigate to the Exam Settings section.

  3. Follow the instructions in the Exam Timing Accommodations article to set the timing multiplier (e.g., 1.5x or 2x).

  4. Save your changes to ensure the updated timing applies to all subsequent practice exams. Please note that once an exam has been started, you are not able to change the timing.

Blueprint practice exams include a pause-and-resume feature to accommodate breaks. Here’s how it works:

  1. During the exam, exit the test interface when you need a break. The timer will pause automatically.

  2. Take your break as needed.

  3. Rejoin the exam when ready, and the timer will resume from where you left off.

If you need to split a practice exam over multiple days:

  • Use the same pause-and-resume functionality to stop the exam at any point.

  • Rejoin the exam on a later day to continue.

FAQs and Troubleshooting

What if my accommodations are not yet approved? You can preemptively adjust your exam timing to reflect expected accommodations (e.g., 1.5x or 2x time). Once your accommodations are officially approved, submit the documentation to finalize the settings. Can I take exams untimed? No, exams must be taken under standard or accommodated timing conditions to ensure they simulate the actual test format. How do I handle timed breaks? For timed breaks, use a separate timer to track the duration of your break. Exit the exam to pause the timer, and rejoin when the break ends. Where can I find the timing options? Timing options appear after you click "Start" on the practice exam interface.
