You are ready to start digging into some LSAT practice questions, but where to start? There are so many options! This article will give you a run-down on all of the filters, modes, and hints we offer. Then we'll give some recommendations on how to tailor your practice sets based on where you are in your prep journey.

What is it?

The QBank is the place where all LSAT questions ever released live and where you’ll go to get extra practice on the specific question types that you learn about in the video modules or in your live classes. If you’ve done the homework and feel as if you still need extra work to solidify a specific concept or approach to a question, go to the Qbank! It will allow you to get targeted practice and focus your studying on the question types actually giving you trouble.

It’s a tab you should become familiar with if you’re aiming for that 2,500-question goal, as the homework and practice exams by themselves won’t be enough to help you get past that threshold.

How do I use it?

Your LSAT course has two ways of using the LSAT Qbank. They work together and you should use both throughout your prep.

From a Study Plan Assignment

We put Qbank practice assignments onto your Study Plan to complement what you're learning and ensure you are getting regular practice. When you open one of these assignments, you'll notice that all the filters are already selected (by our LSAT experts) and you only need to configure the size of the practice set. You will see our recommended size, but you can change this if you want. Easy!

🍿 🎥 Video overview

Here is where you can really hone in on specific areas that are giving you trouble, and to help you identify those areas, we use a proprietary machine learning algorithm. Our algorithm looks at everything you've done in your course so far and makes recommendations. Fancy!

We will highlight your Recommended section but you can override this choice if you want. For each section, even if not the Recommended section, we will also recommend question types. These are based on a combination of your recent accuracy and exam yield. You can go with our suggestions or choose your own. You can further narrow down the question types by applying Filters. Filters are all preselected and optional (more on Filters below):

🤔 Good to know:

  • You need to complete PE 1 for these recommendations to kick in

  • The algorithm runs nightly, so any activity you complete in a given day would be reflected in tomorrow’s recommendations.

    • E.g. You do multiple practice sets in a single day. Your recommendations will not update between sets, they will update the next day (if there are any changes to be made)

  • You need to be "active" to get recommendations, which means you've answered any question in your course in the past 2 weeks. If you've been inactive, you can complete module questions and/or a Practice Exam to reactivate the recommendations.

Filters

Within each section, there are filters for each type of question and passage. Additionally, there are specific skill filters within each type. For instance, you can select diagramming or causation questions for an LR set. Or, if you want practice with a particular secondary structure, then you can select one or more of those RC filters. Whatever the question, you bet we have a filter for it! If you're not looking for something specific, Unselect the filters to draw from a broad pool of questions.

Size

For LR sets, the QBank size corresponds to the number of questions that you want to attempt in a set. For RC, you will select the number of passages you'd like to attempt in a set, and each passage contains 5 to 8 questions.

Difficulty

In our AI Qbank, you can either use "Recommended" difficulty or set a difficulty level (or a range of difficulty levels). Recommended difficulty relies on our algorithmic estimation of what difficulty level you most need and will provide the most personalized experience.

Modes

  • In question-by-question mode, you will see the Blueprint explanation after each question you attempt. If you use this mode, you should plan to review the explanation and think through:

    • What this question illustrates

    • What you did well

    • What you need to work on

  • In test mode, you will need to complete the entire set before having access to the Blueprint explanation. This gives you the option to skip around and come back to questions that you flag before registering an answer choice. In either of these modes, you have the option to pause a set and return to it another time.

While Practicing

Hints

  • Narrow it Down narrows your options to only two answer choices, one of which is correct. When you have less to focus on you can look for specific reasons to eliminate one answer choice over the other.

  • Popular Opinion shows you the most commonly selected answer choice among Blueprint students. This is more helpful when you are leaning toward a particular answer choice but are not entirely sold. If you struggle with confidence, this hint can provide affirmation that you’re on the right track. On the other hand, it might be a reminder to review your selection before marking it.

  • Ask an Expert provides a big-picture clue to help you anticipate. This can be a great way to reinforce the method and remind yourself of the questions you should be asking yourself on test day!

After Practicing

All of your In Progress and Completed practice sets will be listed on your Qbank page. This is where you can View Results for a breakdown of your performance and Review the set.

  • Reset: use link to try this same set again. It will wipe your previous answers and hints so you can begin fresh. Each practice set can be reset a single time (LSAC rules).

    • It does not change the question counter on your dashboard. The dashboard tracks unique questions - so, since you've already seen these questions, we don't take them away nor do we double count them if you redo the set a second time. We added them the first time you did the set, and that's that!

    • Your first attempt will still be reflected in your Analytics, as well as your second attempt. We capture it all.

  • Delete: You have the option to Delete any practice set that has not been started (including a set that you Reset). This will:

    • Return the questions to the Qbank for use in other sets.

    • Update your dashboard question counter if you had a previous attempt on this set but then Reset it (e.g. it would go down by however many questions you answered in your first attempt)

    • Update your Analytics

Generating Qbank Practice Sets at Different Stages of Prep

If you are just getting started...

Goals: familiarize yourself with the basic strategies and practice anticipation

  • Subject: keep sets homogenous (one LR question/RC passage type at a time)

  • Size: keep practice sets small (5–10 LR questions, 1–2 passages)

    • Note: once a question/passage is generated in a Qbank set, it can’t be used in a future set. If you make practice sets too large and don't finish them then you risk missing out on those questions

  • Mode: question-by-question, and you should review each answer thoroughly before moving on

  • Timing: all untimed - you should not be thinking about timing at all

  • Difficulty: lowest to medium

  • Hints: encouraged! Just remember to review explanations for all the answer choices so you know (i) why the correct answer is right and (ii) why all four incorrect answers are wrong
