When you're ready to create a new practice set, click the + Create Custom Practice button:
You'll be taken to a page where you can fully customize your practice set before starting:
Name
Give your practice set a name to help you find and recognize it later.
QBank
Select the Qbank correlating with the exam you want to practice for. Any Qbank you have access to will appear here (e.g., Step 2, Shelf).
Subjects/Specialties
Choose which subject(s) or specialty area(s) to pull questions from. The options here will vary depending on which Qbank(s) you have access to.
Question Status
You can create a practice set using the following statuses:
Unanswered includes only questions that you have not submitted an answer for. This gives you the most accurate view of your remaining, unseen material — we recommend this option for most study sessions to avoid repetition.
Incorrect includes only answered questions incorrectly, without skipping.
Flagged includes only questions that you marked with a flag the last time you answered it.
All includes every question, including ones you've already answered. Use this if you want to revisit or reuse questions you've seen before.
A couple of things to keep in mind:
If you skip a question in a practice set, it will be marked as incorrect.
Deleting a practice set does not return its questions to the Unanswered pool. This is intentional — it keeps your progress tracking accurate and prevents deleted sets from skewing your performance data.
Categories
All categories and subcategories are selected by default. You can:
Check "Select All" to include all categories.
Uncheck "Select All" to start from scratch and build your own selection.
Use the search bar to quickly find a specific category or subcategory.
Click the dropdown arrow next to a category to expand it and select specific subcategories.
Mode
Exam Mode — you won't see whether you got a question right or wrong until you finish the whole set. Selecting Exam Mode also unlocks the Time setting (below).
Tutor Mode — you'll see the result of each question immediately after answering. Tutor Mode is always untimed, so the Time setting won't appear.
Time
(Only available in Exam Mode)
Choose your pacing: 1x (standard), 1.25x, 1.5x, 2x, or Untimed.
Number of Questions
Choose how many questions to include — maximum 250.
Once everything is set, click Create Practice Set. When you're ready to begin, click Go To Assignment.
