When to Clear Cache and Cookies

Clearing cache and cookies should be a last step in trying to resolve technical issues in platform functionality, such as registration errors, buffering or streaming glitches, and study plan display problems.

Before clearing cache and cookies, you should try a hard refresh by following these instructions:

  1. Windows / PC: Ctrl + F5 or Ctrl + Shift + R

  2. Mac (Chrome/Firefox): Cmd + Shift + R

  3. Mac (Safari): Hold Shift and click the Refresh button in the toolbar

If you are still experiences issues and want to try clearing your cache/cookies, follow the below instructions.

Clearing Cache/Cookies in Chrome

  1. Open Chrome

  2. In the top right, click the three dots

  3. Select Clear Browsing Data

  4. Select a time range, like All Time

  5. Select the types of information you want to remove

    1. Include Cookies and Cached images and files

  6. Select Clear Data

Clearing Cache/Cookies in Safari

  1. Access Safari using your Mac device.

  2. Click on Safari then click Settings.

  3. Click on the Privacy tab and click Manage Website Data

  4. Click Remove All.

Additional Tips

  • Retain Saved Passwords and Browsing History: When clearing browsing data, you can exclude saved passwords or browsing history by manually unchecking these options. This ensures you don’t lose critical saved information while resolving issues. For targeted clearing, choose a specific timeframe (e.g., the "Last 24 hours").

  • Try Incognito or Private Mode: After clearing cache and cookies, test the functionality from an incognito or private browsing window to ensure no old sessions interfere with new data.

  • Reviewed Scenario-Specific Follow-Up: If clearing cache and cookies does not resolve the issue, double-check additional troubleshooting steps, like verifying account expiration dates or contacting support for further assistance.
