Adjusting Your Exam Date

How to move your LSAT or MCAT exam date to an earlier or later date and how your study plan is impacted.

It can be difficult to know what to do when your testing timeline changes. Often there is a lot of uncertainty over how the ensuing months of studying will look and how they will fit into existing commitments. Luckily, Blueprint has multiple features available to adjust your study plan to new testing realities.

You can update your exam date at any time. Once saved, your new exam date will automatically populate in your study plan.

Moving to a later date

You can push your exam to a future date directly from the Study Plan calendar or the Dashboard — no reset required.

Note: The exam date on your Blueprint dashboard does not affect your score guarantee. To maintain eligibility, make sure you meet all requirements before your actual test date.

If you reschedule more than 2 months out from your current exam date, we recommend doing a full reset. This redistributes your incomplete assignments across the new timeline while keeping all completed work intact.

Moving to an earlier date

To move your exam to an earlier date, you'll need to reset your study plan. A reset adjusts your schedule to fit the new timeline.

Don't worry — resetting does not erase your progress. Completed practice exams and their analytics remain marked as complete and are still accessible under the Exams / Resources sections.

How to reset your Study Plan

To do this, scroll to the top of your Study Plan and click Reset the Study Plan.

Warning: Once you click the reset confirmation button, your current study plan is gone forever — but you will not lose your progress. For more information on resetting your study plan before moving forward, check out this helpful article on Resetting your study plan.

You'll then be able to enroll in an alternative (or the same) live class, adjust your rest days, and set a new exam date. Once complete, your study plan will auto-populate any incomplete modules and assignments — if it looks sparser afterward, that's because your completed modules fell off.

Please remember you are responsible for ensuring you meet the requirements of the score increase guarantee. If you enroll in a live class that has already begun, a session you still need to attend may have occurred in the past. We recommend checking your attendance on your account dashboard and clicking the plus button on your Study Plan to make sure all incomplete modules are scheduled.
