If you're enrolled in a Blueprint course then you may have questions about taking practice exams. This article will go over the best practices for practice exams and how they relate to our Guarantee.

Exams that count toward your guarantee requirements must be taken as you would take the official exam.

Accurate Timing

Taking an exam under accurate timing conditions means that you take the practice exam using the same time you will be provided on the official exam. You can take exams untimed, with Regular time, with 1.25x time, 1.5x time, or with 2x time. Most learners use Regular time, which will mimic the standard amount of time given on the official exam.

If you have accommodations for your exam, then select the timing option that best represents the accommodations you have been provided. In addition, please reach out to accommodations@blueprintprep.com to provide documentation of the accommodations you were offered so we can note your account. This will ensure your exam scores are correctly counted for the Guarantee.

Taking an exam untimed or using extended time without approved accommodations will disqualify that exam from being counted towards the Guarantee requirements. Untimed practice exams or exams with extended time may be valuable for practice or review, but will not count as valid attempts for the Guarantee.

Accurate Breaks

Taking an exam in one sitting means that you start the exam and finish it in one session while taking only the allowed breaks. Completing the exam over multiple days or taking breaks longer than the standard breaks provided on exam day, unless specified in your approved accommodations, will disqualify that exam from being counted towards the Guarantee. However, skipping breaks (or taking shorter breaks than the maximum time provided) is allowed, just as it is on the official exam.

First Exam Attempt

We only count the first attempt towards the Guarantee for any practice exam. Retaking an exam will not reflect an accurate score or provide a test-like experience since you will have already seen the questions, so only the first attempt of each exam is used for the Guarantee. Additional attempts may be valuable for practice or review, but will not count as valid attempts for the Guarantee.
